Age Group Info.
Our Elite age group is for our Senior students born before 2011.
When deciding which classes you would like to attend the first thing that you will need to decide is what “Stream” your child will enter. We have 3 options or “streams” for students to choose between at HDF. Ready Set Dance, Fun Classes & Team Classes. Further information regarding our streams is available below along with a brief outline of what each stream has to offer. Studio Streams.
Fun Stream.
HDF caters for students who may only choose to attend once a week classes for fun, friendship and fitness. “Fun” students who participate in other sports or activities find this stream the best way to accommodate all of their interests without extra performance & class obligations. Our teachers are fantastic at making everyone feel comfortable and excited to dance with the latest music and choreography.
Classes are available in most styles including Jazz / Hip Hop, Tap & Ballet. Please note that there is normally a huge demand for our “Jazz/Hip Hop (Fun)” classes which are available in all ages from Kindy and up so make sure you get in early to reserve your place.
Enrolling in the FUN stream means that you can choose to attend any class with the "Fun" icon beside it.
Team Stream.
Students who are dedicated to dance and who are interested in taking their training to the next level as well as opening up many more performance opportunities throughout the year are invited to participate in our TEAM classes.
Enrolling in the TEAM stream means that all classes listed in the timetable in your age group are available to be enrolled in (including the FUN stream).
Choosing the TEAM stream at HDF does mean that you must attend a minimum of 3 classes per week. These classes must include at least 1 technical class (either a Ballet or Technique class). The exception to this is if you choose to enrol in a Lyrical TEAM, you will need to attend a Ballet class to meet the technical requirements.
